The Moon spends about 2½ days in each zodiac sign as it circles Earth. Along the way it forms exact aspects — conjunctions, trines, squares — with the Sun and the other planets. Each aspect is a small conversation the sky is having with itself.

After the Moon perfects its last aspect in a sign, it drifts — no more conversations — until it crosses into the next sign. That drift is called Void of Course.

Traditional astrology says: nothing comes of things begun in the void. Contracts you sign may unravel. Launches may fizzle. Emails may not land. Purchases may disappoint. It's not “bad” — it just doesn't stick.

Best use of a void: rest, tidy, dream, journal, meditate, review, revise, take a walk. Save decisions and launches for when the Moon enters its next sign and the sky picks the phone back up.
